Located fifty-kilometers north of Beirut, Batroun is one of the most exceptional cities in Lebanon. It is one small city that combines everything beautiful Lebanon has; ancient castles, mesmerizing churches, heavenly beaches, and amusing nightlife.

All the alleys of Batroun lead to one of the most incredible ports. There, all the fishermen leave their white boats parked, and the sky meets the sea in the most beautiful way.

Facing the fishermen’s port, the Saint Stephan Cathedral was built by an Italian architect that mixed both byzantine and roman architecture back in 1910, resulting in one of the fascinating churches in Lebanon.

The Lebanese Diaspora Village was recently created as a hub for all Lebanese that had to leave their beloved country. The site has the most Lebanese authentic architecture, combining all what a person might want. It has a museum, a library, guest houses, indoor and outdoor squares for special events, a café, a gift shop, a bakery, and a studio.

Right on the sea’s edge, you will find the church of Our Lady of the Sea. It is known for its terrace with an arched belvedere overlooking one mesmerizing sea view. It is one of the most photo-worthy places, so certainly don’t miss it.

The Phoenician sea wall was originally built to protect the city of Batroun from storms, to then become a barrier against any attack. It is a part that stayed from Lebanon’s past.

Not one Batroun visit counts without passing by Hilmi’s Lemonade. It has been considered the perfect combination of sweetness and zest from 1888. Hilmi’s has the yummiest smoothies and ice cream on its menu, all from locally produced ingredients.

Mseilha walkway hike is a 12km trail recently created for people who want to hike without heading to the very high mountains. Mseilha rail has one of the most mind-blowing nature scenes.

The Mseilha Fort, a great part of Lebanon’s historical past, is situated north of the village of Hamat. The 2nd Prince Fakhereddine initially built it to protect the route from Tripoli to Beirut. The fort was built overlooking an amazing view of El-Jawz River.
