Baalbek, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a Phoenician city with two of the largest Roman temple ruins: the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter. It is considered one of the finest examples of Imperial Roman architecture.

These temples were built more than two centuries after the city Baalbek reached its apogee during the Roman times. The temple is also known as the biggest temple to be ever dedicated to Jupiter, with 30-meter-high columns and a 2.5-meter large diameter; the biggest in the classic world! The Temple of Bacchus is an outstanding archaeological and artistic site of Imperial Roman Architecture. It is located in the Bekaa Valley and is part of the Baalbek temple complex. The Temple of Bacchus was also inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984!

The Temple of Venus was built on a horseshoe-shaped platform in the third century. It has a circular shrine with an entrance that is almost as big. The shrine's outer facade has five niches representing doves and shells. That was taken as evidence that the shrine was dedicated to Venus!

Sayyida Khawla Shrine is a mosque located in Baalbek. It is known to be the site where Sayyida Khawla, the great-granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad, has been buried.

The Stone of the Pregnant Woman is a Roman monolith in Baalbek. With another ancient stone block nearby, the Stone of the Pregnant Woman is considered one of the largest monoliths ever created!

Anjar is a town located in the Bekaa valley. It was founded in the Umayyad period by Caliph Walid. The ruins of Anjar reveal a very regular layout which is a unique testimony of the city planning under the Umayyads.

The Umayyad Ruins of Anjar were discovered by archeologists in the 1940s and are also considered an outstanding witness to the Umayyad civilization! The ruins include the Umayyad palace's walls, the Caliph harems's Great palace, thermal baths, a mosque, and many pillars inspired by Roman architecture.

Our last stop is Chateau Ksara, a wine company founded in 1857 by Jesuit priests in the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon. Chateau Ksara developed the first ever dry wine in Lebanon and produces approximately 3 million bottles annually, with wines exported to over 40 countries!
